Problem:

Online legal education was primarily dominated by two major players, LawSikho (Public) and Lawctopus. Both platforms heavily relied on Google for organic visibility, resulting in scattered user experiences and limited direct engagement. This dependency on search engine traffic made it challenging for students to access consistent, high-quality resources and foster a sense of community.

Recognizing this gap, we envisioned an innovative approach by creating an app-centric platform, TheLawExpress, where law students could find all their educational needs in one place. By consolidating everything under one roof, we aimed to enhance service delivery, improve user engagement, and build a community.

Solution:

We built TheLawExpress Website in May, 2020 and launched the App in 2021, an ed-tech platform for law students, to address this market opportunity.

Traction:

10,000+ active users on our app

14,000+ engaged students on WhatsApp

13,000+ professional connections on LinkedIn

20,000+ monthly website visitors organically

Key Achievement:

We achieved this significant user base and a community organically leveraging content marketing and SEO skills, without spending any money on advertisements.

Challenges:

  1. Technical expertise: As a law school student, the lack of a technical co-founder hindered rapid development and iteration.
  2. Monetization: While we built a substantial user base, converting this into a paying customer base proved challenging. The target audience (law students) had limited willingness to pay for premium services.

We shut it down in May, 2022.
